This position will fall under the report, dry reporting and will be part of the business accounting team. This ambitious, fun and collaborative team takes care of end -of -month accounts for all Yelp entities, including our international locations; Then consolidate these results and communicate with the stakeholders both internally and externally. What to do:
You will assist in the preparation, processing and analysis of statements related to Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings. These include forms 10-Q and 10-K, but others may be included as required. You will ensure that the above filings comply with SEC requirements and US generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”), including XBRL standards.
You will help coordinate the review and approval of 10-Q and 10-K documents with key stakeholders, including Yelp senior management, external auditors, internal and external legal counsel, Yelp’s Corporate Disclosure Committee and committees research. You will support the investor relations team by providing accurate and timely financial information, reviewing financial information received, and providing other information as part of Yelp’s fundraising process by letter.
You will review relevant financial statements and provide technical guidance and guidance to ensure that Yelp complies with any changes to US GAAP. This includes researching and analyzing new accounting statements that will affect Yelp, leading the project to implement these new standards, and reporting the results of these findings to management, business partners and auditors.
You will participate in the preparation/review of monthly invoices and reimbursements for the work area as part of our monthly close process, as required. This may include areas such as equity compensation and software development costs, among others.
You will ensure compliance with policies and procedures as required by Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”). Additionally, you will liaise with internal and external auditors in the planning of SOX testing and ensure the resolution and resolution of any specific issues.
You will assist and lead various other projects, including those related to SOX such as the implementation of the regulatory framework or the implementation of other new processes related to SOX or SEC reporting. You will oversee and manage the presentation time of the auditors (PBC list) for external financial reporting audits and SOX-related inquiries, and follow up and resolve auditor issues as they arise.
You will be a key business partner by collaborating with key functional teams including the Accounting team, FP&A, Investor Relations, Legal, Tax, etc. the center of others. You will conduct an analysis of the financial statements for the main areas of operations and may explain these details as part of a monthly review of changes in financial management.
You will work on a variety of specialized projects and ad-hoc research, as assigned, and be able to support strategic planning for key project areas.
What it takes to be successful:
Do you have a B.S./B.A. in business administration, accounting or equivalent.
You have at least 4 years of eligibility. You have a CPA license or are actively pursuing one.
You have experience in SEC filings for publicly traded companies (either as part of an audit or in-house). You have experience in public accounting, preferably at a Big 4 firm.
You have a strong knowledge of US GAAP and auditing methods. You have experience with Workiva SEC filing software (Wdesk).
You are knowledgeable about SOX and your relationship with external auditors. You have strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
You show great attention to detail.
