The Tax Manager will report to the General Manager, Tax and be part of Yelp’s financial organization. This passionate, fun and collaborative team handles all corporate tax for all Yelp companies, including our international locations. What to do:
You will manage and review monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns
You will manage and review property taxes, business licenses, property tax returns and VAT/GST returns for all states, territories and foreign countries.
You will manage and review monthly tax payments, related journal entries and supporting documents, and related balance sheet summaries.
You will thoroughly research, analyze and explain changes to local and regional tax laws
You will need to review product sales tax, resale/tax exemption documents and license laws from jurisdiction to jurisdiction
You must participate in the assessment of the tax credit
You will participate in various projects, including the implementation of new systems
You will participate in compliance with income tax reporting and income tax
You will conduct research and participate in ad hoc tax services, including tax planning
You will train, mentor and develop staff

What it takes to be successful:
You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a tax, accounting or finance related position
You have strong technical skills and are willing to learn new tools.
You have excellent detail and good time management, prioritization and organizational skills
You have excellent communication and written skills
You can manage multiple tasks and deadlines
You have the ability to delegate and lead, demonstrating team thinking
You’re confident that you’re working with people at all organizational levels within Yelp
Experience in Internet or software industry (advantageous)
BS Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (preferred)
Certified Social Security Account (preferred)
Experience with Avalara, Alteryx and Oracle (preferred)
