Summary of the role
The Line Aircraft Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of aircraft for the Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) division of Alaska Airlines (AS). As part of the M&E department, the support person in this role performs all aircraft maintenance and servicing tasks including the removal, repair, assembly and installation of machinery and systems. It is work on behalf of the union. Business matters
We work in the repair and maintenance of aircraft, including the removal, repair, assembly and assembly of engines and systems.
All actions are completed promptly and on time in accordance with all attendance rules and procedures. In accordance with Alaska Airlines policies and procedures, use the authority of your driver’s license (such as Mechanic or Mechanic and/or Electrician) when signing the aircraft maintenance or engine repair form for removal or return to service.
Once deployed, act as the cockpit operator to ensure the safe operation of the aircraft (such as flight controls, electronics, landing gear) at the terminal. Ensure a clean, safe and tidy workplace at all times.
Work experience, training and skills
Research
- In-depth knowledge of aeronautical systems. Ability to problem solve and resolve business issues.
- A permanent capacity of 70 lbs. You must be able to bend, lean, crouch, reach and hold.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company procedures. Valid Airframe and Powertrain (A&P) license.
- You must have a valid and valid driver’s license. There are many shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent.
- 18+. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
