Full Job Description:
As a member of the Plastics team, you will be responsible for evaluating the current production capacity of the Tesla plastics system, developing production processes and capacity for plastic materials for current and future product programs, determine the best way to produce plastic, and implement it. resource capacity and capacity building.

Brings the voice of manufacturing into the planning process to guide the planning process for efficient planning through design and planning
Supports costing, scheduling and project planning for new installations and new products. Provide leading technical solutions to the engineering and planning, design and construction of new plastic equipment
Research, study, test and evaluate new plastic equipment technologies. Focus on non-standard solutions and resources that are not used in production environments to provide innovative solutions to enable product development. Validation of molding processes and components using factory and site acceptance testing
Understand and analyze aspect ratio principles. Connect with vehicle design and quality as required to improve appearance standards
Use data driven techniques to optimize molding processes to meet quality and production requirements
Description of installation requirements for plastic molding process
Support for all engineering structures and validation of the scalability design process
Develop and implement production process support criteria using standardized metrics (cycle time, OEE, MTBF, etc.)
Describe a solid process control strategy to make high quality castings
Submit, review and approve any process changes for continuous production improvement
What to bring
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; MS preferred. Relevant practical experience and a demonstrated record of achievement in specific academic contexts will be considered.
3+ years of hands-on experience using plastic molding processes and equipment
A thorough understanding of the process variables involved in plastic molding and their effect on concentration, quality and yield rate
Must have working knowledge of equipment design, mold manufacturing, control, configuration and validation of robotic cells
Strong skill base in problem solving, statistical process control, experimental design, and simulation techniques
Understanding of design for assembly (DFM), plant manufacturing principles and manufacturing processes
Ability to apply engineering principles to identify and drive non-standard solutions to address manufacturing constraints
Strong interpersonal skills when working with internal teams and vendors
It is good to provide clear and focused technical advice for external engineering resources, whether it is equipment vendors, Tier I, II vendors, or engineering services.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
Willingness to travel domestically or internationally
Ability to lead multi-tasking team members
Proficiency in software and tools (eg Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, JMP, Mold Flow, etc.)
