As the youngest of all ILM studios, the Mumbai studio draws on the expertise and know-how of over 40 years of Industrial Light & Magic, as well as the best artists and experts in the region . Knowledge and culture flow from the company’s five studios, and international teams share tools and labor, ensuring the unity of all shared projects. As we grow ILM Mumbai, we are looking for a Senior Pipeline Technical Director to become an early team member and be part of the development and infrastructure of the studio.

The Senior Pipeline TD is responsible for the development and maintenance of software tools, providing front line support to artists and general troubleshooting of CG pipelines in the high speed video production of the assigned production environment. The main objective is to increase the artist’s efficiency

What Are You Doing:

  • Under the direction of the Showa Technical Supervisor, create plumbing and asset management tools that meet the Showa Supervisor’s immediate production requirements while ensuring consistency across all sites. . Helps manage multiple existing tasks and scripts.
  • We provide front-end production support across many disciplines, resolve ownership and shooting issues, and help artists with compatibility issues. Email inquiries are monitored, issues are grouped and escalated to the appropriate production team.
  • Measure and validate the tools and processes in production. Work closely with the engineering team when testing and releasing new software and updates.
  • It works as a watch service for the film production staff. Work closely with artists, production supervisors and ILM studio staff in San Francisco, Vancouver, Singapore and London.
  • When he’s not performing, he’s working on a software team working on a project that improves the functionality of legacy data, caching, and cross-injection between artists across the board. Work with your supervisor to prioritize your plumbing.
  • Work on the most complex equipment and equipment that requires the most knowledge of larger pipelines and installation needs. Support other TD Pipelines who provide first-line support for complex end-user issues. Guide our team of engineers to debug business issues and eliminate the root cause of the problem.
  • Develop knowledge of software and systems. Leads to the development and modification of standards and recommendations used in production. Push data to pipelines and tools to reflect changes.

What We Are looking For:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of designing and managing tools in a computer graphics environment.
  • At least 8 years of production experience in the field of visual arts, video or television.
  • Skills/Skills Required  Linux skills
  • Advanced Python scripting is required
  • Know at least one of Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Mari, Katana, RenderMan or similar
  • Ability to communicate across disciplines and come up with innovative solutions to pipeline challenges
  • Meticulous and autonomous problem shooter
  • In-depth knowledge of all visual techniques, from videography to modeling and texturing, animation, rendering and compositing.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related technology
