We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join Wayfair’s Controls/Software Engineering team on the PLC/WCS software design side. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with a proven track record in high-quality coding and programming, who understands how to deliver results effectively. This candidate will also be interested in innovating to solve business problems in manufacturing and willing to overcome key challenges immediately. A willingness to travel and approach the unknown is highly desirable. This is a unique opportunity to develop Wayfair standards and work with multiple partners to have standard processes (hardware and software) within our automation platform as well as logistics and logistics teams.

What to do:

Build SCADA platforms using 8.X firmware
Write advanced PLC programming concepts for live production and Wayfair systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
Create and implement in Python code
Create API AOI standards for transporters (configuration, merge code, etc.) distortion)
Develop, test and run code for PLC communication interface and WCS/WMS software interface
Vendor VPN Access Control
Analyze and use SQL queries
Thorough understanding and design of quality control principles
API/Integration testing and development (C+ tools, Java, Python, Allen Bradley, Siemens)
Code development for SMS alarm notifications
Specify/Submit request for server reset
Virtual Machine Design
3D simulation or game engine programs (such as the Emulate3D product)
Remote Live Production systems support critical infrastructure for distribution centers
Working with senior management
Use and modify file types used to manage design packages. (eg JT, PDF, DXF, DWG)
Flexibility to accommodate multiple machine startups and changing network requirements
Understanding common barcodes and ordering descriptive filters
Reports on cost effectiveness and ROI analysis
He writes engineering instruction (EI)
Provides support for machine and system installation
Implement software upgrades including new SCADA systems
Submit Engineering/Material Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Authorization (ECA) to the business
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20-30% of the time

What you will need:

More than 10 years of experience in engineering / equipment and design in the field of material handling
Required experience of more than 2 years with a modern programming language (such as Python, Java, C # or others) is a plus for future plans.
Strong technical experience with warehouse management systems and control systems is required to be successful in this role.
Demonstrated experience in automated equipment handling, with an emphasis on delivery and process planning
Experience with V8.X or higher
Demonstrated advanced experience in PLC programming
Allen-Bradley programming experience (Siemens experience a plus)
Demonstrated knowledge of power distribution, control hardware and system configuration (speed, flow rate, operation)
Knowledge of Ethernet network design, configuration and troubleshooting
Proficiency in SQL and/or other interactive database query languages
Ability to read and understand technical and software documentation
Find different communication network problems
Ability to repair hardware systems, components, devices, etc.
Design and implementation in VFD program
Understands safety requirements for machine design and operation and ensures that issues/questions are addressed
detail-oriented, with strong analytical and organizational skills, and a highly results-driven individual.
Strong written, visual and verbal communication skills. Communicate effectively with business partners and senior management both locally and remotely
Ability to identify priorities and adjust priorities according to support documents (priorities may change weekly)
