Research and develop ideas in-house and at the point of sale using emerging technologies (such as new user interaction technologies, embedded environments, computing, and machine learning).
Identify a high-impact opportunity and build a prototype using the most cost-effective technology to incrementally support the opportunity. Provide an engaging experience that removes confusion/complexity and showcases your work engagement. But at the same time, with rapid prototyping, the goal is for problems that are very limited. Coordinates, supports and evaluates efforts with internal working partners and external technology partners (such as Magic Leap, Google, Adobe, etc.).
Participate in the technology and creative community by blogging/journaling, giving talks, participating in panel discussions, or participating in external media events that promote Wayfair’s technology/innovation brand. Provide technical direction and collaborate with Wayfair’s product, engineering and business teams on strategy, design, implementation and launch. Personal responsibility, from idea to delivery, limits to effective communication, levels, risks and challenges.
What you will need
Ability to thrive in a non-trivial problem space. An understanding of the creative/prototyping process and the ability to navigate complex projects while adapting to rapidly changing directions.
