Wayfair’s Physical Retail team is looking for a Planning and Engagement Manager to support the physical retail P&A team in business analysis, inventory allocation in our stores, and assist in influencing the preparation of inventory plans to drive Wayfair physical retail program. The Director will be part of the physical sales team for the store, and will help shape and execute Wayfair’s strategy as we develop and grow stores across North America. We believe there is a white space in the physical marketplace and an opportunity to create a differentiated retail experience that reflects the breadth and depth of our catalog. A planning and dispatch manager will help bring this experience to life by strategically executing the plan. This is a hybrid project from our Boston office.
We are looking for a motivated individual who can work collaboratively to improve sales productivity and profitability and ensure customer satisfaction in our physical retail business. The manager will work closely with the brand’s store strategy managers, strategy and investment manager and Wayfair customers and Wayfair customers to ensure in-store inventory and the achievement of turnover goals. sales and marketing. They will be responsible for assisting in the development of advance plans and materials at the classroom level as well as executing sales and marketing plans in a timely manner. This role is based in Boston and reports to the Director of Strategic Planning + Project Management with extensive operational responsibilities, and is responsible for helping build best-in-class processes, reporting and tools. As the physical retail portfolio grows, the manager should expect to have an analyst/dispatcher to manage after the first 5-10 store openings.
Functions:
Learn how to do marketing in the store of your article (marketing and inventory) and break down the inventory requirements necessary to achieve this strategy.
Clearly and concisely communicates business activities to business leaders and business partners. Develop distribution strategies throughout the product life cycle extending to marketing and inventory planning.
Prioritize: Collaborate with the general manager, the visual team and the sales team to develop the needs of different products that support the sales process and customer preferences in each store, including : different methods, sku production, composition, extraction strategy, and good depth. Real-time: Support key meetings by providing sales feedback that translates into actions to support the business: weekly business meetings, monthly OTB, quarterly reviews and annual plan development.
Manage the range to bring options to life in the store. Collaborate with policy departments, partner operations and supply chain to understand the process and identify risks/opportunities to ensure product needs are met.
Identify where further process improvements may be needed.
Generate quantitative and qualitative data, and test and learn methods, to continuously improve performance. Adjust the allocation process over time as necessary and provide appropriate and timely guidance to respond to customer and business needs.
Work closely with the support team to manage inventory needs to maximize sales and individual inventory and promotions.
Is required:
Strong business plan + relevant experience required, with experience in home or related field (eg general merchandise)
Ability to create and implement strategic plans and distribution across multiple retail platforms. 6+ years in business management integrating multiple products
Ability to implement strategic plans and deliver results to a variety of team members.
Ability to identify, introduce and implement new process improvements. Ability to apply data (quantitative and qualitative) to drive strategic and execution decisions.
Able to collaborate at all levels and functions of the organization to achieve goals
Evidence of “failed startup damage” and “get it done” behavior when times are tough and the stakes are high.
