Full Job Description:
The HR Specialist assists the HR Manager and HR Generalists within the Distribution Center (DC). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing customer service to the DC team in the areas of wages, time and attendance, benefits, safety, employee benefits, time off, company policies, local DC policies and training. Oversee human resources management and administrative duties including data entry, maintenance of employee/health records and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Professional Services
Provides superior customer service to team members and executives. Manages difficult conversations and delivers information to stakeholders.
Ensure all team members are logged in and properly configured in the Kronos time system. Responsible for payroll related tasks. Ensure that increments are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and all team member transactions.
Supports attendance orders by entering data and communicating as required. Assists the HR Generalist in various activities, such as new member orientation, benefits assessment and open enrollment. Interact with vendors and suppliers to meet internal customer needs. Facilitate communication by updating bulletin boards and displaying information for members in DC.
Serves as liaison to HQ on HR related issues and collaborates with Professional Services as required. Assists the Director of HR by coordinating advertising efforts, scheduling interviews, checking references and other acquisition support services.
Oversees payroll processing for DC employees; including submitting the original statement, entering data into the workers’ compensation system, and informing the carrier of the health condition and/or return to work. Processes all Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence documents for the admissions process. Following FMLA time taken. Communicates information and updates to team members.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field OR High School Diploma / GED and at least 3 years of human resources experience in human resources, employee relations and selection, compensation and benefits and/or training.
Knowledge of payment systems and payment methods
Knowledge of federal, state, labor and employment laws, workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA laws
Knowledge of HRIS systems
Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word (eg: inserting headings, page breaks, page numbers in tables and/or editing table columns).
Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Excel (eg: using the SUM function, setting ranges, setting column widths, inserting charts, using text input, formatting, setting headers and page sizes and/or print scaling). Intermediate skills in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: adding headings, adjusting character spacing, inserting images, changing the layout and color of headings, adding transitions, arranging slide numbers, changing chart styles and/or font settings).
Basic keyboarding skills (at least 30 wpm, typing, formatting, numeric keypad).
