Full Job Description:

In accordance with state and federal laws, performs data entry and patient registration. Responsible for resolving other disputes and answering high-level customer inquiries, working under direct supervision. Follows standard operating procedures and works in accordance with company policies and procedures. It is responsible for using the drug system to access patient and drug information. Duties may vary depending on assigned department.

Job Description:

Using the Walgreens prescription data entry system and instructions, processes new patient registration by entering data into the appropriate system. Process patient prescription requests in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and enter prescription orders for treatment. Troubleshooting for missing prescription information and defining drug templates (SIG codes). Handles all issues related to data entry.
Manages correspondence with patients (incoming calls, chat, email) and makes outgoing calls to prescribers and patients as needed. Handles other requests by analyzing, collecting information, making corrections, and submitting for processing according to individual requirements. Call insurers and others to get information, get coverage, or resolve other issues. Helping pharmacists, both in-house and out-of-state. Identifies and escalates issues as appropriate. Must obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days and maintain an active professional license or certification.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills (eg: turning the computer on and off, pointing and clicking with the mouse, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents and/or accessing information online).
Basic search skills include opening a browser, entering a URL in the appropriate place, using a search engine, bookmarking a site, navigating to help with back/forward/pause buttons and filling out online forms. Intermediate level keyboarding skills (at least 25 wpm, typing, document processing).
Communicates effectively in writing and orally. 18 or older

Eligibility of candidates

At least one year of experience as a pharmacist in a retail or call center.
A minimum of 18 months of experience as a pharmacist with state certification/registration as a state pharmacist or state-issued certification agency. Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting service quality standards and measuring customer satisfaction.
