Where approved by state and federal laws/regulations, oversees the day-to-day operation of non-hospital medicine, regulatory programs; Ensures efficient store operations and a positive patient experience. Responsible for assisting the pharmacist in providing patient care, including patient registration, prescription data entry, patient medication preparation, counting and approval (where required by law). In collaboration with the pharmacy manager, is responsible for record keeping and implementing safety procedures. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, in strict accordance with the policy of Walgreen Co. about good faith dispensing during the prescription program and understand their role in ensuring that the aspects of good faith dispensing are followed and .
Maintains and implements knowledge of company resource protection procedures. Assists the pharmacy manager in monitoring changes and reports to the pharmacy manager any concerns that may compromise the safety of the pharmacy.
Communicates with the pharmacy staff responsible for prescriptions and adheres to company policies and procedures related to clinical errors and continuous quality improvement programs. Facilitates efficient processing of insurance claims to resolve customer issues and prevent chargebacks. Partner with insurance companies and health care providers and conduct or participate in third-party surveys. Assists and supports the Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in evaluating and seeking improvements in pharmacy revenue, service quality and customer service.
Coordinates the Community Outreach Portal and coordinates and, under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, assigns pharmacists and clinics to on-site and community events. Builds and maintains relationships with sales partners.
People and performance management
Leads the performance management of technical staff, including decision-making and advice on training and termination. Adhere to the effective warning policy to properly warn, suspend, stop or support the same. Performs constructive disciplinary policy work to ensure hospitalists comply with state and federal laws. Holds the technician for attendance and time. Maintains and improves pharmacy performance through team participation and event planning. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training and scheduling. Monitors and holds pharmacy technicians accountable for timely completion of training. Adheres to established company policies and procedures for organization and training.
It is responsible for identifying the gaps in the knowledge of Pharma operations among the members and supporting these members in their training, through hands-on training or the use of educational modules. Assists the Marketing Manager in overseeing the pharmacy’s and all team member’s licenses, registrations and certifications in operation and in good standing/adherence to all laws and regulations. Uses Walgreens resources like the Walgreens Online Review System to help with warranty status. Ensure that proper procedures are followed for selection, recruitment, record keeping, and training, in accordance with company policies and local, state, and federal laws.
