Main Functions:

The Director of Digital Aircraft Strategy will serve as a thought leader in using aircraft data and connectivity to improve United’s operations. This collaborative leader will work with functional teams (technical operations, aviation operations, aviation, network operations, and airport operations) to enable and implement new cases that benefits of the growing connectivity, sensors, data collection and mobile device users in the United States. aircraft from all aspects of aircraft and maintenance work. Develop strategies, create business cases and manage a portfolio of projects to deliver United’s digital aviation strategy across the entire fleet.
Serve as the senior program manager for the United Connected Airlines program, including developing strategic plans, reporting on projects/budgets, and leading ongoing committee meetings.
Work with digital technology, flight engineering and operations teams to perform tasks necessary to implement technology and design changes that enable flight connectivity.
Support strategic planning and change management teams throughout the project, ensuring that all training, change management and communication are aligned to the plan.

Eligibility

Engineering, computer science, business administration or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a business, technology, engineering or data-focused role
Minimum 2 years of experience in project or program management
Knowledge and understanding of aviation connectivity (WiFi on board, Wi-Fi/cell on the ground or aircraft data performance systems such as ACARS)
Known airline services (reservations, network/dispatch services, airlines or airline services)
Demonstrated project management, organizational and critical thinking skills with the ability to build and lead a functional project team
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels (including management) and with all internal and external business partners.
Ability to develop and communicate strategic plans and work plans
Legal authorization to work in the United States should be given to anyone who works without a permit
