Full Job Description:
As a Color, Material and Finisher in Tesla’s Design Studio, you will be responsible for the concept, development, and design of color, material and finish for Tesla vehicles, accessories and power products. You will be part of a team that designs and manufactures products that are world class in style, function and luxury. You will be involved in all aspects of the CMF planning process. This includes routine research, research and translation, situation and story creation, innovation, CMF plan development and execution of final color, material and finishing for production. Success as a CMF and Tesla developer requires a proven ability to create compelling and innovative solutions that push boundaries, working with global suppliers and operators and – work to ensure successful implementation and production. You maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail, have an eye for sophisticated design, build strong relationships with other team members, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and power.
What To Do:
Imagine, design and create design ideas for colors, materials and finishes for Tesla designs. Develop digital and physical CMF displays that show the future vision of Tesla’s plans.
Collaborate with the project team on strategy, including design and manufacturing, to implement the production of the final CMF plan. Inspect and approve the color, material and finish of the exterior and interior of the vehicle.
Directs the execution of paint, materials and finishing design for prototypes and production cars. Create and manage relationships with vendors and vendors. Including finding new resources for things to ensure new things are created. Create and manage an in-house library of inspiring, high-quality materials and finishes.
Manage design goals with color rendering and resource management of all products.
What To Bring:
Submission of portfolio/work samples/website showing complete work
Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, textile, color and design, or equivalent work experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
3+ years of CMF experience, preferably in the automotive OEM space. Must have demonstrated technical knowledge of mass production, manufacturing processes and materials.
Demonstrates color accuracy and ability to pass the Munsell Hue color test with top scores. It is good at creating and managing working relationships.
Exceptional vision, communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrate the ability to deliver successful projects under tight deadlines and provide examples of such situations during work. Benefits and costs
