Our product requirements require a home cell with modern performance, manufactured in a larger format than the products they power. This requires you to be very strong and hold your designs to the highest standards of quality, reliability and performance. Our environment is demanding, fast-paced and very exciting. The Cellular Materials Engineering team is seeking an engineer to lead the development of electrode materials for our dry battery electrode system. This candidate will work closely with the Tesla cell development team to define critical properties and facilitate the implementation of these polymers in our electrodes.
What To Do:
Leading the development of next generation polymer binders for our dry battery electrode technology through molecular design and process development. Design experiments and characterization methods to evaluate the efficiency of these binding agents at both the component and cellular level.
Define and document the critical infrastructure. Work with suppliers and Tesla’s global management team to identify, develop, approve and key.
What To Bring:
Degree in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer science or equivalent experience. Strong technical background in materials science and/or polymer science.
Experience with electrochemical tests. Knowledge of battery electrode design is a plus.
