Full Job Description:
Tesla’s Cellular Materials Engineering Group is looking for a highly motivated individual to be an engineer/project coordinator for a new manufacturing/refining project. This is an active role that requires coordination between many different parties inside and outside Tesla, especially with suppliers and logistics teams. As a Project Engineer, you will interact with the Tesla team from Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Operations and Direction. You will lead the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, work closely with the manufacturing team to coordinate the supply chain and inbound/outbound logistics, design expansion plans and execute new battery products and develop strategic partnerships productivity and external suppliers in the relevant industry. You will support projects from concept through input, input, ramp and handover to output.
What To Do:
Works with cellular engineering, operations, logistics, supply chain and other support services to explain and drive design and planning for the allocation of production equipment and supplies. Determine the specifics of the project and obtain the necessary items for completion.
Develop scope and define parameters for resource requirements. Define and guide the roles that the cross-functional team will play.
Find creative ways to overcome obstacles and stick to a plan despite setbacks. Lead the research and selection of external equipment vendors and contractors for the design of the selected manufacturing project.
Coordinates internal and external audits to reduce plant design risks and improve plant performance and availability.
What To Bring
3+ years in a manufacturing environment, with a mix of engineering, supply chain, logistics and operations.
BS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience working in the development of chemical processes or hydrometallurgical processes is a plus.
Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of functional coordination and a demonstrated ability to apply this understanding to solve complex technical problems. Ability to work in cross-functional communication, including relationships with vendors and other organizations.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes demanding long hours.
Ability to learn and integrate new technologies. Ability to identify problems and develop corrective actions to solve them.
