Summary Of Duties

The Enemy Emulation Team plays an important role in improving Southwest’s security posture through simulation assessments that will identify gaps in current technology and systems used to protect Southwest’s business operations. This person will perform web application acceptance testing and red team activities with the goal of identifying vulnerabilities, reducing response time for security issues, and increasing reliability and detection.
Work
Provide security guidance and tools to partner teams to remediate security vulnerabilities, risk factors and policy omissions. Develop test cases, perform group testing, problem solving, and plan enterprise-wide improvements to address security vulnerabilities.
Manage and develop the laboratory capacity of the pentesting team. Review current trends and developments in team red/penesting tools, processes and practices, specifically related to Cloud and OT.
Create comprehensive technical reports and presentations to support adversarial emulation programs. Serves internal customers by advising and providing expert advice on remedial measures for identified vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with external threat analysis partners to communicate external vulnerabilities and ensure remediation results. Develop and regularly update documentation and adversarial emulation processes, to ensure they are consistent with industry best practices and the latest software developments.
Provide training to clients on the use of cyber security systems in an automated environment
Identify cybersecurity issues, design solutions, support software and systems, and coordinate development to meet business needs.
Responsible for immediate response and remediation for production program issues
Work with production testers to identify defects and perform testing
Evaluate and implement process improvements using systems that maintain product integrity
Partner to manage systems, manage escalation issues and regular features
Triage, look for potential defects and complete repairs. Strategic planning and business support
Maintain established processes and standards to ensure high quality and scope of work
Coordinate and direct communication within internal and functional teams to achieve objectives
May perform other duties as assigned by senior staff

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Knowledge of Agile best practices
Security certification such as OSCP, OSCE, GPEN, GWAPT or GXPN is a plus.
Technical skills in information security concepts and practices, general understanding of security operations and entry testing. Experience managing Linux and Windows servers
Experience coding web applications and web services
Experience with Burp and Zap testing platforms.
Experience with programming and scripting languages ​​(e.g. Python, PowerShell)
Ability to interact with the emulation control cell team to deliver information and objectives to the Red Team. Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and SANS Top 20.
Knowledge of at least one scripting and development language such as Python, Go or JavaScript
Expertise in at least one cloud technology and its concepts, such as AWS
Skills in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) development (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar) and automated configuration management using architecture-as-code (CaC) development (Chef, Puppet, Cheat or similar)
The art of implementing cybersecurity policies specifically for things
Ability to monitor performance, record and cybersecurity tools
The ability to deliver useful software and the ability to think about it
