Full Job Description:
As a senior designer, you will lead the development of schedules, change management and program activities for the development of critical satellites and production media on the stream of satellite communications. You will be the leader of a team that integrates advanced programming and strategic management of operations on the production floor on a daily basis. The ideal candidate is used to working in a fast-paced and highly complex environment, has manufacturing experience, and can communicate well with engineering, business, and management.
Main Functions:
Coordinate and monitor engineering, manufacturing, supplier and business operations to support and manage satellite assembly processes using SmartSheet, Microsoft Project and/or other enterprise software solutions. Collaborate with multiple teams across Kuiper to coordinate constantly changing engineering requirements, delivery dates, and satellite systems for production and R&D satellite communications.
Plan, execute and close between 1 and 200 work orders in SAP per day at the production site, organizing resources and personnel to meet the Kuiper program requirements for installation and satellite research. Determine and schedule dates for the rapid introduction and elimination of plans, procedures, tests, and equipment.
Lead efforts to uncover root causes and develop ongoing resolution of issues found during product development, as required, using metrics and building business questions. Solve problems of part shortages and distribution of parts from advanced sources with production planning and quality teams, working with production engineers to ensure timely delivery.
Communicate the expected delivery date with the client’s stakeholders including Kuiper’s launch and information management teams. Work with the maintenance team to include scheduled downtime for any equipment maintenance and/or upgrades.
Provide daily, weekly and monthly updates and reports to management team for timely performance and decision making. Meets daily with the Stand-Up Production Operations team to strategically identify the most important and necessary items to work on for the day to meet all business needs.
Shipping Management Required:
Due to applicable export control laws, applicants must be US citizens or US citizens, US permanent residents (i.e. current green card holders), or is legally admitted to the United States as a refugee or has the right to asylum.
Eligibility Criteria
– Bachelor’s degree in related field or more than 3 years of experience in scheduling or equivalent.
– 3+ years of technical experience in product or program management
– 3+ years of experience with SmartSheet, Microsoft Project, SAP, Sharepoint or similar planning tools.
DISCLAIMER WANTED:
Master’s degree in similar engineering discipline.
Experience with enterprise systems, including working knowledge of ERP, MRP and MES. Practical experience in design, assembly and/or manufacturing.
1+ year experience working in a startup environment. Achieve the transition of complex products from R&D to high-volume manufacturing in an uncomplicated, agile environment.
Experience writing technical papers and presentations. Prior training/certification in best practices (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.) is beneficial.
Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis and problem solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
