The AppleCare Business Research, Operations and Systems team is a data research organization with ideas for improving the post-sales experience and advancing the links between products and process development. Important skills:
- 2+ years of industry experience in an analytics/data analytics role. A highly analytical, detail-oriented and driven individual with a passion for turning big data into meaningful insights.
- High level of SQL skills, good experience with Teradata or Snowflake
- Solid Tableau experience includes deploying and managing large dashboards
- Good understanding of statistics
- Experience with time series analysis and forecasting techniques
- Ability to communicate across the organization with cross-functional teams, facilitate collaboration, and influence process change and improvement
- Excellent writing and communication skills and team spirit and leadership skills
- Experience with Python such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy preferred
- Knowledge of reliability engineering topics is preferred.
Explain
This role is intended for data scientists working on devices after approval from the AppleCare Hardware Insights team. We will focus on supporting quality service engineering organizations to continually develop and improve their service offering. This includes developing and improving testing tools that help provide insight into hardware performance. Particular attention will be given to finding trends/patterns, early warning of potential issues, forecasting opportunities and identifying opportunities for in-depth analysis.
Activities include:
- Interact with project teams to identify issues and opportunities for data analysis.
- Create and develop dashboards with SQL and Tableau
- Close attention to detail and accuracy of information on all assets.
- Identify meaningful and actionable content from big data, interpret it and communicate it consistently to multiple audiences.
- Develop algorithms for automated processes to clean, measure and combine patterns in large datasets that exhibit variability.
- Bring models and estimates to the problem of uncertainty through detailed project information and planning.
- Demonstrate the impact of new corporate programs and strategies through measurement, modeling and forecasting.
- Continue to improve forecast accuracy
Education and knowledge
- BA/BS in the quantitative field (quantitative research in mathematics, engineering, natural sciences, statistics or a related discipline).
- MBA or MS Plus in the quantitative field.
