The AWS Networking team develops and operates network services for all AWS, including US cloud solutions. As a member of the Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) network operations and engineering team, you will play a critical role in the stability, durability and innovation of the next generation IP network that supports America’s intelligence community. From the top of the rack to the core of the network and everything in between, you’ll work with the best network engineers to deliver solutions and processes that are simple, sustainable and repeatable to use solve complex problems. With your experience in network systems engineering and Unix, you will be able to own and modify network services related to installation, implementation, configuration and/or optimization. As a Network Development Engineer, you will follow our larger infrastructure organization and design principles and tools, and work closely with systems and software engineers to ensure the rapid deployment of new applications and products, as well as the deployment and maintenance network tools. .

Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, server load balancing and network security principles and technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, server adapters, firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, NFS, etc.
Knowledge of network fundamentals and strong troubleshooting skills; specifically, network performance analysis
Experience working with clients to identify problems and work toward resolution
Strong desire to build, ability to multitask, sense of belonging and urgency. Strong Unix/Linux skills and the ability to write in Perl, Python, shell, C or C++ are desirable, as is a strong understanding of load balancing and Layer 4-7 technologies.
