Performance testers will help deliver Costco’s Performance Testing Model on an ongoing basis. The performance test model includes 5 key deliverables: reviewing performance requests, planning, writing, execution, and reporting. One performance monitor is a shared service that supports many of Costco’s product lines. The team’s primary focus is to help deliver applications, solutions and/or platforms that meet and/or exceed IT and performance SLAs. As a shared responsibility, performance testers must collaborate across teams to establish accurate performance metrics and benchmarks for systems under test that may be on-premise, cloud, and /or a hybrid. Finally, the team strives to contribute to the continued progress of the industry and business.

WORK:

• Creates, develops and maintains reliable, repeatable and efficient performance test scripts in scenarios that meet the objectives identified in the performance test plan.
• Creates and communicates accurate plans for operational equipment and test schedules. Analyzes relevant business content and participates in requirements and uses case analysis among project teams to understand performance evaluation requirements.
• Collaborate with IT and business resources to define and develop functional test objectives, environmental testing, and data testing requirements. Monitors business metrics and compiles workload and business information for performance testing.
• Perform performance testing during various phases of the project life cycle. Monitors and documents performance metrics of automated performance testing tools, monitoring and network tools, and backend systems that are available for this role.
• Monitor, record and track performance defects; ensures that bugs are fixed and code changes are tested during the performance testing phase.
• Monitors and displays performance metrics and results of running performance tests. Creates and maintains performance tests and related assurance documents.
• Develops and ensures compliance with laws, procedures and documentation. Supports code review process to ensure deliverables meet performance standards.
• Manages source code, release control, and coding standards.
• Identifies and solves problems, often anticipating problems before they arise or develop; develops and evaluates options and implements solutions.
• Prepares and reports performance assurance status on a weekly basis.

Wanted:

• More than 3 years of practical and continuous experience in software assurance. 2+ years of hands-on, continuous performance testing experience.
• 1+ years of programming in an object-oriented programming language. Demonstrated experience in JAVA/C#/C/C++ or equivalent.
• Experience with performance testing or automation tools. Knowledge of performance testing procedures and plans.
• Ability to translate development and testing requirements within the project into performance test scripts and scenarios. Can program automated test scripts using programming languages.
• Skills and experience working with subject matter experts and technical teams (architects, system designers, operations, etc.) to solve problems encountered during performance testing.
• Expertise in creating complex documents that communicate technical concepts in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner to the business community and Costco owners.
• Innovative, creative and responsive with a strong sense of urgency.
• Good understanding of Waterfall and Agile SDLC is preferred.
• Excellent understanding of on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Good understanding of maintenance procedures and load management.
• Work ethic, conscientiousness and demonstrated ability to delegate under minimal supervision.
