Our mission is to monitor the competition of the entertainment industry, explore new projects and adjacencies, and establish important discussions with our investors. Within this team, we work on a daily basis with multiple teams across the business (for example the Functional Strategy team, Business Development, FP&A, etc.). Executive management relies heavily on this group to accurately reflect and forecast the environment and to conduct strategic analysis to make important business decisions and communications with our shareholders. Applicants should be a good researcher and effective communicator. Previous experience in a role emphasizing written communication is preferred. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of conducting thorough investigations independently and promptly. Candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of curiosity, focus on delivering results, and demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and ethics. This role will report directly to the Director, Corporate Audit & IR and will be based in our office in Los Angeles, CA.
Examples that work might include:
Develop a portfolio of investment and business opportunities and develop go-to-market strategies and business development strategies with a cross-functional team.
Create and present regular analysis of business opportunities in an easy-to-understand format to business leaders such as CFO, relationship management, etc. Conducting market research and analyzing competitive trends to inform the company’s investment decisions
Analyzing our public and private peers (eg SEC filings, investor day materials, etc.) to understand strategies and report key developments.
Create materials to support investor relations activities (e.g. fund preparation) and help improve our external metrics
Degree Required:
2+ years of experience in finance, strategy and/or consulting services; Other research backgrounds are encouraged to apply
Strong financial marketing skills with experience in performing quantitative and qualitative analysis and an understanding of public company financial statements and research methods.
Strong communication and presentation skills with experience in preparing complex research for executives/leaders.
An understanding of the media industry (working in a studio, production company, agency, distributor, or professional service supporting any of these) is a plus but not a requirement .
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and deliver projects to deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; working with statistical knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or other relevant field
