Spry Fox is looking for a Senior Artist / UI Designer! In this role, you will lead our visual direction of UI, component design and in-engine implementation of a quality, MMO platform.
You will work closely with our art, design and engineering teams to create a user interface that blends seamlessly into our 3D world in terms of functionality, style and aesthetics. You will work with the design team to transform wireframes into a good user experience, and with the engineering team to create and maintain a set of repeatable elements. As a UI Artist/Designer, you will be responsible for designing our UI to work across different experiences (eg mobile and others) and navigating between visual quality, performance and maintenance. WORK
Create high-quality UI assets that complement the look of the game’s 3D assets
Follow technical guidelines and collaborate with developers to improve the quality and usability of the user interface as a whole, within the limits of what the design has created.
Manage and optimize the pipeline to create high-quality, customized UI assets that complement the look of the game’s 3D assets.
Integrate UI assets into UMG widgets and use Blueprint to build and manage customized assets
Regular, continuous and open communication with team members about your work and status (Slack, Google Meet, essential email)
Is required:
Experience working with new premium models – UI and UMG design and Blueprints widget design.
A portfolio that demonstrates strong UI design skills, as well as 2D component design
Experience designing user experience and user insights for games, including a deep understanding of game systems, player motivation and game flow.
A deep understanding of how design translates to code and how your decisions will affect development complexity and timelines.
Strong communication skills, including clear and proactive communication and able to raise a wide range of complex technical issues to programmers and non-technical teams.
It’s nice to have
Experience rendering UI in Unreal, especially on mobile
An immersive graphics experience for mobile gaming
Secondary specialization: VFX, general 3D experience, concept art, C++
