Walt Disney Entertainment is seeking candidates for the Disney Live Entertainment Costume Shop Specialist for positions across Walt Disney World and our home schools. The company supports all Walt Disney World costumes, including performance, entertainment, and character, creating and maintaining clothing and non-clothing. As a sewing expert, you will build and maintain our famous clothes by sewing them to make our guests’ dreams come true. The sewing expert makes his first save.
To be considered for this job, you must be able to pass an in-person screening at Walt Disney World Resort. Functions:
Make adjustments and create clothes according to the correct date
Maintain high standards of performance to meet Disney’s standards for clothing changes and construction
Make minor adjustments to the assigned single needle sewing machine
Respond to concerns in the workplace and know when to escalate and engage with team members
Maintain a safe and healthy workplace by following policies and procedures while adhering to company guidelines, including cleaning, sanitizing and organizing the workplace.
Get training in the use of many tools, production machines and safety procedures
Cast members may be required to handle chemicals and cleaning equipment
Personal protective equipment (face shield, goggles, clothing, etc.) may sometimes be required
Key features:
Must be 18 years old
Work the sewing machine properly
Works with all types of fabrics including synthetic and natural, wool, foam, vinyl and leather
Understand maintenance and building instructions
Working comfortably in an area where actors can be in many levels of dress/dress
Push, pull, lift and carry 20 lbs including overhead
Climb ladders, stairs and work on multiple levels
A long walk is a long time for the transition period
Working long hours of great work
Shifts and seven (7) days of full availability, including first/second shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.
