Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant relevant experience.
Experience in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining and monitoring computer hardware and server hardware. Experience with operating systems and network systems.
Candidate Qualifications:
Gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware or network problems using Linux-based tools. Experience in coding, system administration or scripting.
Experience with coding or scripting is preferred. Experience in troubleshooting operating systems, network infrastructure and software.
The ability to collaborate and collaborate with people and organizations to overcome problems. Ability to manage competition and change priorities.
About Work
Google is not just a software developer. The hardware team is responsible for maintaining the modern physical infrastructure behind Google’s powerful search technology. As an operational technician, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and manage hardware (such as servers and components) and server applications (such as Google’s Linux cluster). You will also support the configuration of complex components such as networks, routers, ports, bridges, firewalls, and network systems. You will follow or lead teams on small projects and large installations and develop project management plans. A typical day involves manually moving and installing racks, and although it can be demanding at times, you are happy to be working with modern IT equipment.
In this role, you will deploy and manage Google’s data center server and network infrastructure by installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining server hardware and software. You manage the configuration of networks, routers, bridges and switches. You will lead the local project team and resources and create a contingency plan for the project. You will be able to effectively deploy technologies related to the data center and build relationships with different people. You will ensure that the objectives, tasks and functions are carried out effectively and are replicated across our global data network. The data center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. Work
Assist and lead efforts/projects in the installation, maintenance and support of existing and new data center servers and network infrastructure.
Lead intensive troubleshooting and resolve critical or escalated technical issues with large numbers of affected facilities. Test and discover new server and network software and features.
Install and maintain switches, routers and other large network equipment. Configure and troubleshoot Linux operating systems.
