Full Job Description:

Minimum requirements:

  • Associate’s degree, printing school  certificate, or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of experience at the student/doctoral level in mechanical/heating, HVAC or electrical engineering
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs of equipment and work under platforms, stairs and floors
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and multiple shifts/tasks

Features:

  • Experience in data centers, hospitals, power plants or similar critical environments
  • Experienced in electronic testing, troubleshooting and validation
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in data environments, such as medium/low voltage power supplies, transformers, switchgears, relay protection, generators, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, VFDs , relay protection, chillers, air conditioning units and CRAC units)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors performing system repairs or upgrades
  • Ability to learn quickly and solve problems as they arise

Google’s data center office professionals operate, maintain and support physical sites. Some of these tasks include air and water heating and cooling, power supplies, generators, UPS systems, power distribution, and control and monitoring systems. Assist in the regular inspection, maintenance and repair of various data center systems such as plumbing and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components. You provide day-to-day support to senior technicians as you read manuals/schematics, perform machine walkthroughs, and evaluate their operations.

As a best practices expert, you develop effective strategies to reduce operating costs while improving overall office information. Quickly identify and correct problems by ensuring that safety and security standards are followed regularly. Reduce disaster recovery time by managing desktop information issues and attacks in the event of an emergency or anomaly. Our data center manufactures and operates some of the finest electrical and HVAC equipment in the world.
