Her Campus Media is seeking a part-time Assistant Social Media Editor in New York City to work across various social platforms for Her Campus Media’s brands: primarily Her Campus, Spoon University, and College Fashionista.
This role will report into the Social Media Manager, and assist with conceptualizing creative ideas as well as handle social scheduling across Her Campus Media platforms.
The ideal candidate has editorial and/or social media experience. They have their finger on the pulse of what’s trending for college students — what they want to see when scrolling through Instagram, how they’re using Pinterest, and what they’re watching on TikTok.
The ideal candidate can adapt to different brand voices, has a basic understanding of Google Analytics, and is on top of social trends in the industry. They are passionate about Gen Z storytelling through social media, especially on Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok, and want to build an engaged audience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in managing all social media accounts, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and TikTok
- Create and schedule optimized social copy across all platforms in the Her Campus, Spoon University, and College Fashionista voices
- Identify big-picture traffic opportunities on social, and collaborate with the Editorial Team to bring them to life
- Create video content for Instagram Reels and TikTok
- Regularly pitch new and engaging social ideas and concepts
- Assist in gathering weekly analytics across all social platforms
- Assist with the creation of the daily newsletter
- Engage with the audience (responding to comments and messages) across the Her Campus Media brands
