The Supply Chain Manager (ASM), Small Goods & Footwear develops and manages partnerships with top suppliers and internal stakeholders in the design and manufacture of the best Disney merchandise. In collaboration with the Sourcing Manager, Global Sourcing, he is responsible for planning sourcing processes across and/or all departments. The Director of Sourcing, Global Sourcing will develop, coordinate and deliver results in product quality, time/cost efficiency and revenue growth.

The Associate Sourcing Manager supports timely development from design to delivery. They work cross-functionally and are key partners for manufacturers, retailers, technology producers and local companies in product development to achieve a complete vision. They will support the product development team to ensure that all plans meet the target objectives and align with the brand acquisition strategy. This person has knowledge of successful global development processes and product development to drive growth and improve performance in global markets and distribution channels.

This position reports to the Director of Sourcing, Global Sourcing and Product Development. ASM provides support and assistance for operational and organizational activities to develop and market capital under the strategic guidance of the director of marketing within the assigned department and/or product department. This position requires domestic and international travel for cost negotiations, product placement and office and site visits. Functions:

Assist the Inventory Manager in sourcing, consuming and developing certain types of products for the O&O and SIS stores.

Partner in vendor strategy, pricing/product delivery, vendor communications, and sample management related to assigned product categories

Responsible for ensuring products meet established standards for safety and quality, including tracking quarterly product review requests (PRRs) and product integrity partners.

Support and implement a sourcing strategy that supports global distribution while addressing localization and/or parallelism and speed-to-market needs.

Create an acquisition plan that maximizes value and minimizes risk with the goal of annual improvement.

Knowing industry trends to help identify source strategies. Knowledge of inventory, manufacturing and grading systems for Softline and/or Hardlines

Actively seek opportunities, ideas, processes and innovations to deliver new products and suppliers.

Support and implement resource planning including:

Continuity – meeting 3 things is close to the natural goal. High product quality, including compliance with global regulations. Review global product names and regulatory changes to ensure products always meet global market standards. Control of prices and profits: Manage macroeconomic and geopolitical influences on prices and deliveries: currency exchange, commodity rates, labor rates, trade agreements and disputes, COVID policy, environmental policy, etc.

Collaborate with teams such as marketing, product design and engineering to establish engineering development costs to achieve strategic goals; support other structures, materials and operations. Review quotations and bid decisions to obtain the best price and ensure productivity for a program.

Country of Origin (COO) Differences: Identify new supplier needs, if any, partner with DGS and Responsible Sourcing to identify and identify potential new partners, including cost-effectiveness programs and checks. International Service Standards (ILS) works with TWDC Global Product & Service Standards to ensure compliance standards are followed.

Innovation: Actively looking for new opportunities, ideas, processes and materials to deliver new and existing products. Host Supplier Innovation Weeks to monitor sales and innovation during the season.

Monitor and track proto, line adoption, sales, e-commerce and samples to market by calendar date and all sample, fabric and CAD development tracking. Send samples of equipment and programs together; Quarterly and when evaluating new relationships with suppliers

Product development and pricing

Manage Development Tracking Reports (DTR) for all open projects – weekly tracking and reporting on cost and scope.

Liaising with vendors to track and verify the accuracy of data provided, resolve day-to-day issues, and ensure vendor compliance with Disney policies and procedures.

Review and finalize final project awards to vendors; tells the prize sellers literally

Keep all data points in a product lifecycle management (PLM) tool.

Adhere to all cost and development standards as defined in the Product to Market (PTM) timeline.

Data entry is tedious in PLM

Completion check and verification by final submission

Follow up with vendors on any outstanding issues, develop action plans, resolve day-to-day issues, and enforce timelines that vendors are required to meet.

Liaise with trade acceptance and vendor documentation and all resource planning

Complete, under the direction of the Design Manager, reward/program development based on production challenges that affect the design.

Production and process

Tracks all admissions to pre-approved pro check. Responsible for tracking development and checking progress against key dates; Communicate development at the manager’s level with partners

Assist in the preparation of all required social media reports (schedules and events, status updates, etc.).

Liaise with Product Integrity to ensure safety and quality standards across all target markets, including quarterly tracking of Product Review Requests (PRRs) with product partners. Communicate test issues to marketing manager and cross-functional teams

Attend weekly cross-functional team meetings.

Perform data entry tasks including PLM, material processing, revenue mapping and invoicing. Cooperation and communication

Prepare all standard media reports as required (schedules and events, production schedule, status updates, etc.)

Develop strong relationships with internal and external partners

Attend weekly cross-functional meetings and quarterly product line review meetings to understand key supply issues and other processes

Communicate financial and development status to global and regional partners via email or team meeting updates, and weekly cross-meetings as required.
