The Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) Engineering Support – Civil will provide engineering support to support all aspects of the District’s water and waste systems at Walt Disney World Resort, including: l ‘water; reclaimed water, wastewater and solid waste.
The candidate will provide engineering services to support the city’s portfolio of capital improvement projects, ensuring alignment with departmental plans, commitments and departmental goals. Engineering Support – Community acts as the point of contact for customers and stakeholders on all technical related topics and ensures that internal teams and external partners adhere to the overall vision of RCES for the program country.
The candidate will be responsible for identifying needs and developing fundraising programs as well as performing tasks related to job requests, utility bills, creating and maintaining building codes. Hydraulic systems and models. The Support Engineer – Civil will report directly to the Senior Civil Engineer, RCES Engineering & Programs.
You will be
Subject matter expertise to solve problems related to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of infrastructure systems
Review and approve customer service requests. Responsible for the development of business plans / portfolio of projects for the Civil Utility System.
Conduct technical analysis of construction plans for new development and expansion of infrastructure. Support the preparation of country studies, reports, policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain equipment specifications and specifications and construction standards. Provide engineering and technical guidance to internal and external partners.
Provide oversight of the cost-effectiveness process of the capital plan considering system capacity, replacement of end-use equipment, and the installation of the process equipment. Act as a performance team representative in organizational reviews for financial benefit projects. Do local research if necessary. Assurance and quality control management of services that support regulatory compliance.
You will have
Current registration as a professional engineer in the state of Florida or current registration in another state with the option to register in Florida within six (6) months of employment. Note that registration in Florida is mandatory
Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering principles and utility operations with experience in one or more of the following areas; drinking water, waste water and reclaimed water systems and solid waste management.
Five (5) years of education or experience in a manufacturing or related field. Working knowledge of standards and codes in civil service systems.
Have strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems. Demonstrated knowledge of construction techniques and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
The knowledge of various technical studies, reports and literature and case study methods are presented. Ability to model civil systems for pressure and gravity.
Ability to work in a variety of work areas, including in the field. Ability to work long hours to respond to system emergencies and severe weather events.
Eligibility of candidates
Knowledge of Florida state laws and regulations regarding water supply and distribution, sewage collection and treatment, solid waste and disposal, recycling and reclaimed water.
Operational experience and record keeping in developing standards or evaluating plans in water, wastewater and reclaimed water systems. Training required
Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) from an EAC / ABET accredited institution.
Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Florida or the ability to obtain a license in Florida within six (6) months of employment. Education preferred
Master of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) from an EAC/ABET accredited institution.
