The Walt Disney Enterprise Environmental Sustainability Team oversees the company’s progress toward its ambitious 2030 environmental goals focused on sustainable air, water, waste, materials and design. This team works closely with the core business functions and business units to set sustainability goals, influence the implementation of sustainability goals, and lead external reporting on progress against goals. As the gatherers of comprehensive environmental performance data in manufacturing companies, the group has overall oversight responsibility for the company’s efforts to maximize that goal.
In addition to managing specific goals, the team works to create a culture of environmental responsibility across the business. Finally, the group helps to manage the company’s reputation by engaging with external stakeholders, including but not limited to employees, environmental networks, environmental non-profits, investors, media and others.
Assists in the collection of large datasets from various internal and external sources, organizes data, cleans and transforms data into required formats for further analysis. Prepare and maintain forms as required for data collection and calculations.
Perform cost benefit calculations using a variety of methods, including expense-based and activity-based methods, following instructions provided by senior management. Support for research into development processes and best practices. Support the development and maintenance of standardized methods to calculate the cost of profit and carbon emissions that represent the types of consumer products, content production, building types, etc. Perform QA/QC of input data and calculations, resolve inconsistencies in data or calculations; Assist in internal validation and third party verification of data and calculations
Assist with presentations, create visual presentations of input data and output calculations. Build and maintain trust with a large network of internal partners, conducting regular monitoring during the data collection, verification and validation process. Participate in frequent meetings, discuss the status of data collection and calculations.
