The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta. In this role, he will maintain the smooth and safe operation of Delta’s fleet, ensuring customers have an exceptional travel experience. AMTs maintain aircraft, aircraft engines and components, and avionics systems in accordance with Delta and FAA specifications; carry out inspections during the assembly of parts and after the repair or installation of components; document maintenance procedures, including component damage, source, and condition; and practice safety-conscious behaviors in all processes and operating procedures.

Summary Of Responsibilities (not exhaustive of all duties):

Carry out all work activities in compliance with the laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols and procedures established to guarantee one’s own safety and that of others. Inspect aircraft or aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, tires, and engines for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear and tear to ensure airworthiness.
Recommend replacement, repair or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection. Report problems, breakdowns, unusual wear or damage to the appropriate personnel, if necessary.
Installs, removes, or modifies aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications. Repairs worn, defective, or damaged parts or components (e.g., damaged joints, lines and couplings, cables and pulleys), using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
Inspects completed work to certify that maintenance is in accordance with standards and procedures and that aircraft are ready for operation. Interpret discrepancies or records (written or verbal) to understand the history and nature of the problem, resolve the issue, and identify required next steps (e.g., correct, defer, replace).
Research, read and interpret technical manuals and guidelines to perform inspections, installations, repairs or other work activities. Examines maintenance records to determine if checks, repairs, and service and maintenance checks were performed at prescribed intervals.
Maintains repair logs, documenting all aircraft corrective and preventive maintenance activities. Serves as a technical expert or mentor by providing corrective advice and recommendations to others.
Use computers, information systems and other technologies to enter, document, access, receive or communicate information. The starting minimum hourly rate for this position is $40.73 with a possible maximum hourly rate of $41.32. Ability to hit maximum hourly rate depends on various other bonuses offered (examples include, but are not limited to, airframe and engine license, shift differential, station position differential, line maintenance differential, skill differential) .
