Aircraft Support Mechanic (ASM) is Delta’s primary TechOps role. In this role, you will be part of the crew that helps ensure Delta Airlines operates smoothly and safely, delivering an exceptional travel experience for our customers. ASMs work independently or as part of a team to accomplish tasks and may assist Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMTs) with operational or non-operational tasks that affect the interior of the aircraft (or other areas as needed ).
This job is the best entry level mechanic job. There are many opportunities to learn and work with AMTs who have experience inspecting, operating, or overseeing the maintenance and modification of aircraft and aircraft. Summary Of Responsibilities (Excluding All Duties):
- We carry out all our work in accordance with laws, regulations, standards, safety procedures and procedures designed to ensure our safety and the safety of others.
- Perform inspections to detect damage, defects or wear and tear that may affect safety, reliability or customer experience, and report issues as appropriate.
- Recommend replacement, repair or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection.
- Report any problems, malfunctions, improper wear or damage to the appropriate person, if applicable. We test machines, equipment, materials and parts for defects to ensure they are working properly.
- Install, remove, or modify model aircraft, machinery, or equipment based on drawings, schematics, diagrams, engineering decisions, and publications.
- Repairs worn, damaged, or damaged items or equipment (such as glass seats, trays, wiring/electrical) using hand tools, gauges, and measuring tools.
- Device issues or performance issues. Interpret discrepancies or reports (written or verbal) to understand the history and nature of the problem, resolve it, and identify appropriate next steps (such as correction, delay, change).
- Reads and interprets manuals and instructions for performing inspections, adjustments, repairs or other operations. Maintain a maintenance log documenting all aircraft maintenance and repair operations.
- Interpret and use specifications, drawings, blueprints, schematics or work charts to determine work path or sequence and complete work tasks. Look for manuals, flight logs, or other resources to gather the information needed to complete the tasks.
- Practice safe behavior in all operations and procedures. The minimum hourly wage for this position is $24.49, with a possible maximum hourly wage of $25.08.
- The ability to reach the maximum per hour is subject to several other fees, including but not limited to aircraft and engine licenses, differentials, different parking differentials, different care lines and the different skills.
