The Data Sourcing Engineer is responsible for developing data pipelines and/or data integration into IS support systems. This is a new team at Costco and they will be fast and great, supporting business goals by being the company leader in this area. This role is data engineering focused on creating and deploying automated data pipelines from a plethora of internal and external data sources. The Data Engineer will work with product owners, engineers, and data platform teams to design, build, test, and maintain the data pipeline used across the enterprise as a single source of truth.

WORK

Builds and operates data pipelines to create standardized enterprise datasets available for consumption (BI, advanced analytics, APIs/services).
Work with data architects, data managers and data quality engineers to design data pipelines and make recommendations to improve ongoing data storage, data integration, data quality and organization. Design, develop and implement ETL/ELT processes using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
Uses Azure services such as Azure SQL DW (Synapse), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, Cosmos, Databricks and Delta-Lake to improve and accelerate the delivery of our data products and services. Making big data and NoSQL solutions by creating a data structure can create valuable information for the organization.
Identifies, designs and implements internal process improvements; performs manual operations and optimizes data transmission. Identifies ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality of data management.
Communicates to non-technical audiences in both written and oral formats. Conduct peer review for other data engineer jobs.

Wanted

4+ years of experience engineering and implementing data pipelines with large and complex datasets. 2+ years hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and/or IICS.
3+ years of experience working with cloud technologies such as: ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Synapse, Cosmos DB and other Big Data technologies. Extensive experience working with various data sources: DB2, SQL, Oracle, flat files (csv, delimited), API, XML, JSON.
Advanced SQL skills. Strong understanding of relational databases and enterprise data; ability to write complex SQL queries against various data sources.
3+ years of experience in data processing, ETL and database. Good understanding of database security concepts (data pools, relational databases, NoSQL, graphs, databases).
