Data engineers are responsible for developing the pipeline and/or integrating test data for Costco’s B2B certifications. Big data (e.g. reports, data science/machine learning, data APIs, etc.) are at Costco’s expense is responsible for using good data to provide the best products and services to its members . This role focuses on data engineering, creating and delivering data pipelines that will ensure data security for all testing. Data engineers work with product owners, data architects, and data platform teams to design, build, test, and automate the data pipelines that the entire business of course relies on. Responsibility:

  • Created and operated pipelines to bring data to various test sites for use in proof generation.
  • Work with data architects, data managers and data quality engineers to develop data pipelines and recommend continuous optimization of data storage, data ingestion, data quality and performance. ‘orchestration.
  • Know the means and tools to hide PII and other sensitive information.
  • Design, create and implement ETL/ELT/CDC processes using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue and other ETL products.
  • Use Azure services such as Azure SQL Synapse (DW), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, Cosmos, Databricks and Delta-Lake to improve and optimize data delivery and services.
  • Developed data processing capabilities to leverage Big Data and NoSQL solutions to provide useful insights to organizations.
  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements such as automating manual processes and optimizing test data delivery.
  • Identify ways to improve reliability, efficiency and data quality management.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences in written and spoken formats.
  • Conducted staff reviews of other data engineers.

Important:

  • More than 3 years of experience in the engineering and operation of water pipelines in the context of large complex projects.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica IICS, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue or other ETL tools.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud technologies such as ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Synapse, Cosmos DB and other big data.
  • Experience working with various data sources (DB2, SQL, Oracle, flat files (csv, delimited), API, XML, JSON.
  • Experience using data integration systems such as media-based integration/integration (Kafka, Azure Event Hub) and ETL.
  • Advanced skills in SQL; Strong understanding of relational and business data can write complex SQL queries on a wide variety of data.
  • 3+ years of experience with data pipelines, ETL and data warehousing.
  • Deep understanding of database storage concepts (data pools, relational databases, NoSQL, graphs, data stores).
  • Git/Azure DevOps experience.
  • Worked in a fast and agile development environment.
