Apple seeks optical engineering work focused on lens metrology and optical system characterization to create quality products.
Important skills
- Good understanding of optical metrology methods and metrology.
- Experience in the development of new tools and/or methods for the objective assessment of ocular parameters related to visual acuity.
- Experience in metrology and characterization of optical lenses and coatings (e.g. light output, optical surface quality)
- Seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams such as lens design team, process team, tester team, Rel team, etc.
- Experience measuring production line growth is preferred
- Knowledge of the human visual system, color science, 3D depth perception, image distortion and manipulation
- Camera-based test system experience, photography experience preferred
- Proficiency in one or more computer languages for data analysis (such as Matlab, Mathematica, C/C++/C#, Python, etc.)
- Creative/Analytical, Thinking and Problem Solving
- Good written and oral communication skills
