In this role, you will be responsible for driving the strategy, build, adoption/migration, maintenance, and governance of the tax infrastructure that supports these efforts.
We are looking for an advanced taxonomy strategist with experience and passion for organizing diverse databases and issues that support the many unique features of movies, shows, and games. Your experience includes implementing best practices and driving the adoption of taxonomies. Taxonomies that are developed will support content metadata that can be both manual and creative. You will be an expert in organizing users to effectively implement the objectives and key metadata elements. You will be responsible for scoping, creating and maintaining data dictionaries, controlled terms, planning and data integrity/applications. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in creating and managing taxonomies and metadata schemes. Working closely with working partners, a good researcher will be confident in making good decisions. They have the communication skills to effectively prepare and gain acceptance for governance and policy related to the new taxonomy. You have experience creating taxes for consumer-facing products or services, preferably related to the entertainment industry. As a Creative Editorial Taxonomy Strategist, you will work closely with the product, content and marketing teams to define, develop, maintain and manage common taxonomies that will help Netflix elevate the way we describe our brand to members and partners. You will also collaborate with Creative Operations, Platform Engineering and Product Engineering to deliver a scalable, user-applicable solution for adding metadata to creative assets. You are comfortable working in an environment where giving and receiving feedback is the norm and where successful teammates do not shy away from difficult conversations.
Reporting to the Director of Editorial Curatorial and Taxonomy, this is a graduate role. Preferred location is Los Gatos or Los Angeles, but will consider Remote US, with some travel required to California.
