What impact will you have in this role? As a JavaScript Engineer Intern at American Express, you’ll be part of an agile team to design, build, and deliver value-added solutions for global enterprises. A variety of skills including but not limited to requirements analysis, design solutions, coding best practices, CI/CD pipelines, testing and automation are required and supported in this role. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that have a real business impact and will benefit from a variety of initiatives.
You will also have the option to join the Community of Practice to find topics of interest. This role can be further self-examined.
Minimum requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a science/technology/engineering/math degree and demonstrates an interest in software development work.
- Demonstrate analytical and design skills that include user interaction.
- Develop writing, speaking and drawing skills. Demonstrates general knowledge and understanding of JavaScript.
- Proven experience with JavaScript libraries
- Proven experience with JavaScript technologies such as ReactJs, TypeScript, jQuery, Redux, NodeJs
- Experience with management systems such as Git, Maven/Gradle, etc.

- Familiar with SQL (creation of stored procedures, SQL queries for integration with other applications)
- Ability to challenge the status quo and improve existing systems
