The I-9 Compliance Specialist role is an exciting opportunity for a focused, compliance-focused individual who enjoys being part of a local team, overseeing team expectations and building relationships to ensure compliance
This position will be reported to the I-9 Team Leader, Department of Labor. This role is part of a dedicated I9 team that manages all aspects of the I9 lifecycle, from new hires, rehires, reviews and data retention. The individual will work closely with the local marketing team to ensure that the work permit process meets the standards set by American Express and local authorities. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to the Experience Group, Global Talent Acquisition, Internal/External Counsel, Sales Managers and other Vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. good work and good for all. job seekers and current employees. This role will also support initiatives to improve the overall I-9 process and take other related actions as needed.
General Services Include:
Oversees the end-to-end I-9 process and ensures that new hires, rehires, transfers, and current employees are hired to work in the United States.
Review Form I-9 and supporting documents through other processes to ensure they are complete and accurate in accordance with federal law requirements and guidelines.
Review the E-Verify process on new hires, rehires, and existing employees to ensure employment eligibility through the Department of Homeland Security/Social Security Administration. Works on-site and virtually one-on-one to ensure I-9s are complete and approved on time
Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders via email, phone, WebEx and other forms of communication.
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with internal/external counsel to ensure team compliance with USCIS and Federal requirements.
Identify trends, motivations and problems and report them to management
Manage data integrity by managing and updating supplier management systems in real time.
Assist in report compilation and analysis
Serve as an extension to subject matter experts across sales, marketing and recruiting teams to ensure seamless implementation and processing of the I-9 process.
Work with the marketing recruiting team to ensure the I-9 forms are approved, the process is working as planned, and administrative/admission controls are being properly maintained.
Write and update key process documents and communications with candidates/colleagues.
Assist other organization members with strategic planning and ad hoc projects
