What impact will you have in this role? American Express’ Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) team is responsible for monitoring risk and providing controls to ensure the business is operating effectively and efficiently in accordance with regulatory compliance expectations. In a digitalized and increasingly technological world, the management of technological risks has become important in organizations and has become an important subject for leaders. Cyberattacks are becoming more common and the trend continues to rise.
This associate role is part of the secondary risk management team within the GRC group, led by the company’s Chief Risk Officer (CRO). This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of professionals responsible for developing risk management technologies and providing independent risk management across technology, cybersecurity and business continuity risk.
Reporting to the Risk Manager, this position is responsible for independently assessing and reporting risk and providing risk insight. Risks identified by this team are reported to senior management, the risk management team, the board of directors and regulators. This position is responsible for effectively collaborating with stakeholders across business units and lines of defense to effectively and efficiently manage risk in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
Required work:
Be independent, manage risk, and monitor technology, cybersecurity, and business continuity management risks arising from business processes or arising from Nausea technology.
Learn technology, cybersecurity, and business continuity management from American Express, which demonstrates curiosity and a willingness to present beneficial challenges. Perform data-driven audits focused on technology, cybersecurity, and business continuity management. – Create and develop key risk indicators and data-driven key performance indicators that provide real-time and meaningful insight into risk and performance. Familiarize yourself with the rules, procedures and business models.
We support the creation of an independent risk management system, i.e. coordination and integration with various risk management systems, including risk management systems for identity, management business continuity, new product approvals, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- More than 7 years of risk management on 3 lines of defense
- Demonstrated ability to identify risks, identify issues and provide insight into risky situations through interviews and big data analysis
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent thinking and problem solving
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to challenge conventional thinking by engaging in constructive dialogue
Like:
- Education: Computer Science or Information Systems
- Working knowledge of one or more data mining tools/technologies (e.g. Microsoft Excel: SQL Pivot Tables, SAS, Python, R)
- Risk management in cybersecurity, information technology, third parties and business continuity management
- Commercial certifications (such as CISM, CISA, CISC)
- Understanding of risk assessment processes, procedures and industry standards (such as COSO, COBIT, ISO 27001, FAIR or NIST RMF)
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g. OCC Hardened Standards, FFIEC IT Manual)
- Knowledge of governance, risk and compliance tools (ex. Archer)
