The Global Merchant Services (GMS) team is responsible for American Express’ main source of revenue: customer loyalty funds. This team works closely with multiple marketing partners to determine the best pricing strategy that will support American Express’ customer acceptance, while striving to improve customer coverage and satisfaction. Finally, we maximize customer revenue and profit growth through customer-oriented pricing, flexible pricing, and innovative pricing solutions. Analyst, Pricing Strategy is responsible for providing analytical support and implementation processes for business pricing strategies. This position will work closely with senior executives in the GMS Pricing and Customer Management Organization in a fast-paced environment and participate in high-level projects that have a significant impact on the customer business in the United States. This is a great opportunity for everyone to gain in-depth knowledge of the client’s company, as well as exposure and insight from Blue Box executives. The analyst should be a proactive person who can work closely with senior management and has the right intentions to promote change. Provide advisory support to senior management in the cost control department and GMS customer management and ad-hoc research projects under tight deadlines.
Design and develop a business case for new pricing strategies to meet Global Merchant Services strategic, value-based propositions provided by American Express in the marketplace.
Optimize existing pricing strategies to improve revenue growth, coverage and customer satisfaction
Serves as the lead engagement and business liaison to ensure the successful initiation and implementation of high cost initiatives.
Contribute to ongoing resource development that identifies opportunities for sharing business best practices, improves the implementation of contract/payment systems and other internal processes.
Eligibility:
2+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or similar experience
Special features for research; demonstrated ability to develop sophisticated financial models and gain value-added insights from big financial data.
Strong relationship management and collaboration skills can influence others in situations where goals may differ
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both written and verbal – with experience leading discussions with company leaders
Ability to thrive in a team-driven environment, which is committed to high results
A thinker who is willing to challenge traditional ways of doing things and develop new approaches to old challenges
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize
Expert level in Excel and other MS Office products
Experience in payroll or planning consulting preferred
