This position is a finance member within the finance department.
Working closely with external auditors, this position is for conducting tests of corporate controls as part of the company’s annual audit of the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. what to do
Performs daily work around annual SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) Section 302 and 404 compliance efforts, including preparation of annual risk assessments, control process maps, and testing of SOX control audits.
Work with process owners to develop action plans and address any regulatory gaps.
Collaborate with the company’s external auditors to organize the audit process that supports the publication of their reports
Assists the business team by providing advice on internal controls as required
Develops and maintains documentation surrounding SOX compliance testing activities
Assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes, procedures and accounting concepts on an ongoing basis.
Recommends and helps improve processes to improve the management environment and maximize the use of resources (people, technology, money)
Represents the department in meetings and through written and oral communication with internal and external customers
Performs various duties/other outreach activities as assigned to assist in the achievement of the department’s/company’s business goals and objectives.
Monitors developments and issues that may affect the company’s (PCAOB) SOX operations.

Minimum Qualifications – Education and previous work experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or experience/training
Knowledge and experience in applying and analyzing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
3+ years of previous work experience
Candidate Qualifications – Education and Previous Work Experience
MBA, MA, etc Bachelor’s degree and necessary university credit in accounting to pass the CPA exam
2 years of professional experience in accounting in a large accounting firm or in the accounting department of a large public company
Professional certification (CPA or equivalent certification)
Experience with SEC and DOT financial reporting and relevant regulations
Working knowledge of SAP Accounting and Hyperion Reporting Systems
