Job Description:

What are you doing

  • Conduct the simulator level of pilot training in accordance with AA rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA and other relevant federal regulations related to education.
  • We provide detailed information on all levels of flight simulator training.
  • Obtain the essential training manuals, training materials, and equipment needed to complete the training process.
  • Complete the study documents and appropriate announcements.
  • Consider and introduce students’ progress and skills.
  • We provide professional advice and guidance to vulnerable students. Increase safety and efficiency by offering through channels.
  • Assist in the development of programs for all levels of flight training under the direction of the appropriate Fleet Supervisor.
  • Support the training of other trainers. everything you need to succeed

Minimum requirements – education and work experience

To be selected as a Flight Simulator Pilot Instructor, applicants must hold an FAA Air Transport Pilot Certificate and have served as a pilot or second-in-command on a large turbojet-powered fixed-wing aircraft for at least a year. OR Have a ATPC and have at least 500 hours as a pilot in command of a single or multi-engine aircraft. Additionally, candidates may be selected for SIMP training if they have served as an American Airlines Flight Training Department instructor for one year and have CLTS. All candidates must comply with the following requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.
  • Must be evaluated and accepted by a Selection Committee composed of American Airlines Managing Pilots or their designees. Before being considered a qualified instructor, the candidate must show a simulator qualification or continuous qualification session observed by the fleet training manager or his representative.
  • Upon completion of instructor training, the candidate must demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the Fleet Training Manager or designate, the ability to complete all training materials and the waternum effect of current training. If applicable, an FAA background check must be completed to qualify for Airport Security Clearances (AIDS).
  • If applicable, you must be able to obtain the appropriate airport clearance and/or security badge from US Customs. You must have a valid US passport.
  • Must be able to perform and pass a critical DOT drug test.
  • Travel and transfer to the venue of the meeting are the responsibility of the applicant.
