Amazon Vulnerability Management and Remediation (VMR) is looking for a Security Engineer to join our Vulnerability Management Response team. VMR is responsible for the discovery, assessment, management, and remediation of vulnerabilities in Amazon. We bring data, set big goals, and constantly challenge ourselves and each other to find better solutions and meet new challenges. Our membership offers a unique opportunity to work with the industry’s top security experts and interact with Amazon’s team and leaders. As a VMR Security and Response Engineer, you will be hands-on in diagnosing and resolving security issues at Amazon. You will be part of a global vulnerability response service supporting a diverse technology ecosystem. Your team is an international team of security engineers, software developers and technical program managers dedicated to always raising the bar.
Main functions:
You capture and analyze critical and emerging vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and security vulnerabilities, without input from third parties. You create and deliver safe campaigns, with or without input from third parties.
You are participating in a call-to-action. You are an important and independent supporter.
You are solving a difficult and complex security problem. You help prevent attacks that could compromise critical systems, business confidence or customer data.
Your work focuses on high-impact projects that will work (for example, implementing process automation, working on expansion, creating a new assessment system). Your work is always good.
You know a lot of security measures and know when it’s appropriate to use them (and when not). You specialize in at least two CBK areas (e.g., control systems and procedures, network security, application security and system development, security standards and models, cryptography or operational security).
By advising peers, managers, and company leaders, you help influence and promote partner group compliance (eg, data processing, administrative functions, and other security goals). You can work on major security issues such as countermeasures and develop incident commander skills.
