Full Job Description:

Amazon’s ROC team is seeking a motivated Shipping Specialist to assist in the day-to-day logistics decision-making process in our Northeast fulfillment center. Americans and our distribution network are affected. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and impact Amazon, our shipping partners, and ultimately our customers. In the case of network disruptions, you will be on the frontline to help network/transportation partners resolve these issues and ensure our customers receive their shipments on time.

The ideal candidate has experience in a customer service/call center, travel and/or supply chain environment. In addition, a passion for providing quick solutions and solving problems using strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills is essential. Successful candidates will enjoy working in a fast-paced and high-quality environment with plenty of room for growth. They will excel in being accountable for themselves, the team, the carriers/drivers, and the process

Main Functions

• Provide a unique experience / solution to carriers and drivers, in the contact area, by analyzing, solving problems, setting appropriate expectations, and working within the Amazon transportation network.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and follow a schedule: start/stop and breaks/lunch
• Support spikes and/or weather-related operations as necessary to accommodate significant transit times during designated peak volume periods
• Use internal systems to collect data from various sources to prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports (AAP, Reach, Decisiv, FMC & YMS)
• Work in cross-functional teams. Utilize analytical skills to make data-driven decisions and communicate effectively to others within Logistics Operations Management (TOM), Amazon Freight Partners (AFP), and Shipping. • Provides team support on driver services, load acceptance and driver/equipment availability
• Your calls will be monitored and recorded for training and compliance purposes.

Eligibility Criteria

• High school diploma or equivalent
• More than one year of experience in MS Excel based tools; familiarity with Excel spreadsheets and the ability to navigate and interpret data
• Shifts to work day or night and weekend shifts as needed as this team provides effective support to the Amazon distribution network 24/7.

DISCLAIMER WANTED

• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 2+ years of Amazon experience
• 1+ years of call center experience, preferably in a logistics or claims environment
• Demonstrated strengths in customer service, communication (including focused listening) and organizational skills
• Demonstrated interest and ability to acquire the ability to solve complex problems
• Proficiency in computers, especially customer relationship management (CRM) software, and strong writing skills
• Demonstrated professional experience as administrative support or project/data management
• Experience in transportation operations and knowledge of Hours of Operation (HOS), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
