Main Functions:
Engineering – Cybersecurity and Engineering jobs offer technical expertise covering a wide range of IT security solutions. As a member of the security team, the Engineer – Cybersecurity Operations and Engineering works to create and maintain a secure workplace for employees and business partners by protecting the United Airlines web application environment through Web Application Firewall (WAF) technology. Ensure that our external web infrastructure is robust against threat actors and attacks by providing security measures to protect customer and user data. Collaborate closely with cyber security and web application development teams to deliver WAF and bot protection technology, adding threat visibility, identification of threats and automated protection (blocking) systems for Internet-facing web services, strengthening United Airlines. guard post
Develop and configure WAF security gateways and security policy enforcement to protect web systems while ensuring that legitimate production traffic is not affected.
Apply log analysis skills and experience to identify and analyze security issues related to web service exploitation and malicious requests in web application environments.
Create resources, documentation and training materials to help security operations and web application teams better secure their environments

Eligibility:
What it takes to pass (minimum requirements):
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or 4 years of relevant work experience
4+ years of enterprise level systems engineering
2+ years of experience working with web application firewalls (WAF) and web application security technologies
2+ years of experience collaborating and collaborating with web application teams to ensure WAF security controls are in place, providing in-depth communication, security policy development and web application security policies.
2+ years of experience working in an emergency response or security organization (SOC) with a focus on business IT.
Experience managing and deploying Akamai’s WAF and bot security product solutions for large-scale, customer-facing web applications.
