Full Job Description:
The Global Safety and Security Department is responsible for ensuring the safety, security and well-being of all ESPN personnel, guests and assets. Additionally, the division provides safety and security services for all ESPN owned and leased facilities and ESPN remote events worldwide. This position is part-time (24 hours a week), 1st shift (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
Summary of conditions:
The part-time security specialist will participate in all functions of the main security office, including security, emergency response, monitoring fire and HVAC systems, communication with police and fire departments, dispatch and emergency notification. A security professional will greatly assist in ensuring the safety of property and people and the safety of Woodlands facilities in Montgomery County, Texas.
Functions:
Greet, monitor and guide all guests following established procedures.
Always and correctly enforce company and parking safety rules. Inspect company equipment, identify and report safety and security risks.
Maintain the building as directed. Completes and authorizes fire service.
Conducts audits based on fire service authorization procedures to ensure security on ESPN properties. Performs fire watch duties in designated fire service areas.
Provide appropriate general information to visitors and staff. Perform a general security system scan.
Perform access control functions at high-speed rail stations according to procedures. Perform a vehicle inspection according to the inspection procedure.
Can monitor fire alarm control panel and define alarm display for emergency type and condition. Quickly redeploy yourself to the scene of a potential emergency and investigate, identify and respond within three (3) minutes of the first alarm.
Can help with car maintenance. Able to respond to health, fire, security and other safety related emergencies and events as trained and write a complete report following established procedures.
May be asked to provide security presence at special events (on or off campus). In some cases, you may be required to set up barriers, operate gates, and generally direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
You may be asked to complete special tasks as required. Create a job order clearly documenting the name, location, type of job required.
Find out about the business and all the requests that are made every day. Can create work orders and send supervisors to the correct location of required work orders.
Assist in the distribution and tracking of related domain keys. May analyze possible radio channels for HVAC, electrical, maintenance, construction and security to facilitate communication between teams.
Can receive and process all requests for equipment services by phone or email and radio. Can monitor the company’s external phone lines and incoming phone calls as needed.
Eligibility:
Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license. Minimum of one (1) year of customer service or related experience.
Must pass pre-employment background check, DMV check, and urinalysis drug screen. Must possess and possess a Texas State Level Security Officer License or be able to obtain one within thirty (30) days.
Must be flexible to work shift hours (hours and days off) and overtime as scheduled. Must be able to perform basic computer functions including using MS Outlook and Word email.
Maintain a professional presence and image at all times. Must complete required training for fire service license.
Must have clear vision and teamwork. Must be able to work independently within established guidelines.
Must be able to interpret audio-visual signals to identify alarm types and respond according to protocol. Must be able to monitor electrical power panels and respond quickly to construction sites to identify and determine alarm levels to avoid interruptions in generation and transmission services.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Minimum of two (2) years of security or law enforcement experience
- Excellent writing ability and command of English grammar
- Strong leadership, judgment and decision-making skills
- Highly flexible with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure
- Permission to use company transportation including boats and golf carts
- Able to take orders and control difficult situations
- A minimum of one (1) year of work experience managing an office or similar field information request.
