This core team is responsible for risk management across all global customers, across all customer and business segments, and across all global product lines. Build business-driven data capabilities, create value-based decision making, develop predictive models based on machine learning, and improve customer service strategies. Our decision research team uses business modeling and AI practices to predict customer behavior. Develop, deploy, and implement predictive models to aid decision-making in credit, fraud, marketing, and best services, and support the use of models in business printing logic. This role includes some of the following responsibilities.
- Work with lots of digital data (web, apps, APIs) and smart tools in our Big Data business.
- Build NLP-based solutions by analyzing business problems to collect training data, analyze data, model, validate, and deliver NLP models.
- Create everything from simple menus to advanced learning models and algorithms to improve your customers’ online experience and mobile apps. Work with product owners to develop new products and content with a data-driven approach
- We work with technology partners to test, implement and deliver prototype solutions for manufacturing systems.
- Introduces new methods to develop customer behavior insights and turn complex behavioral data into insights.
- Use the power of the closed loop with the Amex network to make smarter, more relevant decisions.
- Innovation focused on creating new and better ways to use big data and machine learning solutions
Eligibility:
- Masters/PhD in various fields (computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, operations research, etc.) with experience in the use of analytical skills and machine learning. A PhD in NLP with practical experience is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in analytical languages (Python, R or equivalent) and database experience (Hive, SQL or equivalent). Knowledge of SAS is a plus, but not required.
- Strong understanding of machine learning/statistical algorithms such as deep learning and reinforcement learning. Data visualization is better
- Demonstrated ability to formulate business problems as mathematical problems and use external thinking and tools (academic and/or other business) to develop solutions and provide business insight.
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Organized, independent thinker with great attention to detail and the ability to multitask

- Able to learn quickly and work independently from detail, no problem getting started
