What Do You Want?
We are looking for a professional and experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join the Tesla Energy Applications team. As a Cybersecurity Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing cybersecurity capabilities for Tesla Energy projects, including cost-effective battery power plants. As a key member of the Consumer Electronics team working within the Energy Projects team, you will play a key role in Tesla’s mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.
What Are You Doing:
We support the development of cybersecurity solutions that comply with international standards such as NERC-CIP (North America), Australian Key Security Code (SOCI) and United Kingdom G99 (Europe). Facilitate the implementation of cybersecurity measures required for telemetry and remote access to critical infrastructures.
Develop and implement monitoring tools and dashboards to improve cybersecurity investments and service efficiency for complex electronic operations. It promotes low control of Serla’s power, including the evaluation area, tests and planning.
On contract / dialogue, measure a new cyber security project. Support sales and sales engineering teams by separating customer requirements and specifications.
Support new Tesla Energy software features by creating specifications and test plans, supporting development and testing, managing deployments, and writing new scripts. Provide internal and external support to customers in selling and deploying Tesla products for new and complex applications.
Work with internal teams and external parties to assess practices and implement identified improvements.
Carry Out:
- BS/MS in Civil Engineering with 3+ years of work experience; or proof of balance and good ability.
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity in business administration. Familiarity with energy industry standards such as NERC-CIP.
- Thorough understanding of electrical systems including equipment such as meters, inverters, SCADA controllers and network systems.
- Proficiency in automation and programming languages such as Python, C, C++, RUST, GO, etc.
- Good understanding of control and communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, etc.
- Experience implementing network communications for critical systems, including multi-tier network communications. Network-related certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.) are preferred.
- Compliance with industry standard cybersecurity requirements: DMZ, jump/name servers, firewall rules, etc.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently within a team
