**$3000 SIGN ON BONUS***

 

Qualifications: 

BA/BS in related field preferred with at least two years of related experience required. Knowledge of population. Knowledge and experience in delivering a vocational curriculum, including hands-on activities. Demonstrates organizational and supervisory skills. OSHA and teacher certifications are preferred. Ability to effectively engage in project-based instruction as necessary.

 

Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications. Ability to consistently meet all necessary background and credentialing requirements. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work and for the transportation of clients to and from appointments and activities as needed. Must have a reliable telephone notification system for emergency contact.

 

Must be proficient in English and possess and convey effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and service providers. Demonstrate sound judgment and effective, solution focused, problem solving skills. Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with residents, staff, co-workers and supervisor. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural groups.

 

Physical and Mental Demands:

 

 Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting to carry out job responsibilities. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle as needed. Ability to work a flexible work schedule contingent upon program needs. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress. Ability to physically carry out Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques.

 

 

Responsibilities:

1. Deliver a curriculum focused on woodworking education and project-based activities.

2. Coordinate projects and planning lessons to ensure maximization of learning and experiences.

3. Tailor sessions according to strengths and needs of the population.

4. Attend required meetings.

5. Have working knowledge of woodworking tools and projects.

6. Maintain safety within the classroom and vocational shop.

7. Establish and maintain rapport and engage the youth in the learning process.

8. Ensure that students are taught in the safe and proper use and care of tools.

9. Provide content of instruction using vocational woodshop educational curriculum

10. Accommodate teaching approaches through consideration of individual student differences, development of social skills, thorough lesson preparation.

11. Oversee day to day operations of the vocational classroom program in accordance with the program, contract, and DYS, DEEC and ECHS policies.

12. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the youth, their families, community agencies, licensing agents and vendors, including DYS and DEEC.

13. Develop and maintain positive community relationships.

14. Adhere to all licensing and funding requirements.

15. Monitor facility maintenance, upkeep and supply ordering.

16. Be a positive and professional role model for youth and staff at all times.

17. Maintain professional boundaries at all times.

18. Obtain certifications in CPR, First Aid, CPI, Suicide Prevention etc.

19. Ensure that all certificates are current and provide required documentation.

20. Corporate Compliance program. Adhere to all ECHS policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, and HIPPA.

21. Act in an ethical, legal, and responsible manner, following all applicable ECHS policies, state/federal laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

22. Respect diversity of others by demonstrating and modeling cultural awareness and sensitivity at all times.

23. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelors or better in Rehabilitation
